by Radar Staff Ashton Kutcher's contract to star in Two and a Half Men is surprisingly only for a single year. That's what sources with inside knowledge of the deal told The Wall Street Journal. Despite its status as the most popular sitcom on TV, Two and a Half Men's recent troubles with former star Charlie Sheen seem to have everyone a bit on edge on how the audience will respond to a revamped series and Kutcher. It also gives Kutcher, who is reportedly being paid $20 million for the season, the right to walk away after a year even if the show is renewed and Warner Bros. wants to keep him. If all goes well, expect to see the show which also stars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones, to remain on CBS through 2013.

  Charlie Sheen's successor has been chosen, and it's not the rumored Woody Harrelson, Jeremy Piven or Rob Lowe. Twitter lovin', light-hearted actor Ashton Kutcher has accepted an offer to replace the troubled actor on Two And a Half Men, according to TMZ. A few changes will ensue: Kutcher won't revive Sheen's role as Charlie Harper, and he'll also get a butchered paycheck compared to his predecessor.

While Charlie raked in $1.25 million per episode, Kutcher will be cashing in at somewhere between $625,000 and $900,000 per show. The show's creator, Chuck Lorre, has scripted a new character for Kutcher to portray alongside returning star Angus T. Jones. A source said Lorre, who's been in a public embittered battle with Sheen, is "really happy" with the choice.

Kutcher took to Twitter on Thursday evening with a telling riddle: "What's the square root of 6.25? The answer is 2.5, or Two and a Half."

Ashton Kutcher is a frugal romantic. The actor leaves love-y Post-It notes around the house for his wife, and jokes that they're "much cheaper than diamonds." His wife Demi Moore doesn't mind one bit, though.

Demi said: “The type of romantic is, you go to our house, I have Post-It notes placed in various locations, all with messages of encouragement or love or just thought. Some have been there, I don't know, seven years. They're all my favorite but my most recent one was just a reminder that I was magical."

Ashton chimed in: "Post-It notes are much cheaper than diamonds."

Mr. Kutcher is a big joker when it comes to gift giving, but he takes his marriage very seriously. He said in a recent interview: "It's working on the relationship when the relationship is good. As marriage goes, I think people set 'getting married' as the goal as opposed to being married. Working on it when it's really good, not letting it go flat and finding things to work on together...Like this project we're working on, it's the two of us in the trenches every day...We argue and we're both alpha-individuals...But we know what the big goal is, to transform the quality of life for people."
