It's no secret that Britney Spears loves pop forerunner Madonna (even enough to make out with her!). 
So when rumors began flying that Britney would be covering Madonna's 1983 hit "Burning Up" (watch the video below) on her upcoming "Femme Fatale" tour, they didn't seem too off-base. And sure enough, as of today it would seem this has actually been confirmed by a leaked song many suspect is meant to be a backing track for Britney's dance-heavy live show.
As covers go, it's pretty straightforward, with Britney purring the lyrics in her unmistakable voice over music that sounds like it's gotten a bit of a techno update. Does this mean she's going to dress up like early '80s Madonna too, with leather jacket, bangles and bright pink lipstick? Lacey hair bow too, we hope? Or, OMG, does this mean Madonna might decide to make a cameo at some point, helping Britney perform a few of her iconic songs??? WHO DO WE NEED TO CALL TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN?

Justin Timberlake rarely comments on Britney Spears' drama-mania life, but he did give some straight-up insight about their teenage romance in a recent revealing interview with Vanity Fair.
“We were two birds of the same feather – small-town kids, doing the same thing. But then you become adults, and the way you were as kids doesn’t make any sense," he said. Sounds like a healthy trajectory for teenage lovebirds entering adulthood. He added that the two haven't spoken for 9 or 10 years.
“I won’t speak on her, but at least for me, I was a totally different person," he said. If he's talking about his current tortoise-shell-specks wearing private demeanor vs. his bleached blonde high-pitch voiced teeny idol aura, he's right on key.
"There was nothing normal about our existence. We spent way too much time being the biggest thing for teenyboppers," he added.
If you secretly envision a future JT/Britney Spears happily ever after, move on!

You know how you were young and just about to go someplace really awesome, only to have your parents make you take your little brother or sister with you? That has to be what it feels like to find out you’re performing with Britney Spears. So here’s Rihanna experiencing just that at last night’s Billboard Music Awards where Britney didn’t so much as “perform” as wander around and remember she’s supposed to do something with a stripper pole… eventually. Seriously, at one point, they just started having a pillow fight because apparently playing Pat-a-cake would’ve been way too complex, not to mention involve food. “Why you say cake but no have frostin’?” *throws Rihanna into audience* |

Report: Britney Spears Will Perform at the Billboard Awards

(Getty Images)  Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj will kick off their summer tour on June 17, and it looks like they'll give a sneak peek of what's to come on Sunday at the Billboard Awards! Sources have confirmed to Us magazine that Brit will take the stage not once, but twice at the industry awards show. First, she'll sing "S&M" with Rihanna as part of the opening number, then later in the show she'll allegedly sing with Nicki on a "Till The World Ends" remix! The source claims Brit's performances will steal the show Sunday. "It's gonna be big," the insider said. "People will definitely be talking about it the next day." People will also be talking if this is just one big rumor... Tune in for the Billboard Music Awards Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. on AB |

Britney Spears Changes Her Tune on Letting Kids Into Showbiz
Last summer, pop superstar Britney Spears raised quite a few eyebrows when she told Cosmopolitan that she'd never want her children to forge a career in Hollywood: "If my sons told me they wanted to be in the entertainment business, I'd lock them in their rooms until they turned 30," she joked.
But in a new Q & A with Harper's Bazaar, Spears seems to have softened to the idea of sons Sean, 5, and Jayden, 4, becoming celebs in their own right. She told Laura Brown, "If they have a love and a passion for the arts and that's what they want to do, then so be it. They are both little actors and so charismatic, I wouldn't be surprised at all."
Other revelations in the interview include Britney's assertion that, as a mother, she tends to worry a lot. She also said, "I'm more straightforward, and I speak up more than I did before. When I was younger, I wouldn't speak up as much, but now that I'm a mom, things have changed."
Spears' response is particularly interesting in light of how little she's spoken to promote her latest album, Femme Fatale, and the fact that her parents recently claimed her "mentally incapable" of giving a deposition in a defamation lawsuit. When's Britney going to speak up about that?

Britney Spears (born December 2, 1981) is the princess of pop and a tabloid favorite. Born in Mississippi and raised in Kentwood, Louisiana, Britney Spears got her start by appearing on "Star Search" in 1992.
Britney Spears has been busily promoting her new album, Femme Fatale, with appearances on Good Morning America, Ryan Seacrest's KROQ program, and even Jimmy Kimmel Live, but access to the artist apparently comes at a price Carson Daly wasn't prepared to pay. The late night Last Call host and radio personality has been complaining that he nixed plans to speak with Britney when her handlers asked for too much control over the interview.Carson took to Twitter to voice his displeasure with Britney's management after they requested that he pre-record his interview with her and send it to them for review before it aired.

Britney Spears was dating Justin Timberlake back in 2002, when she attended the 2002 MTV VMAs. She and JT met as Mousketeers and dated for 3 years before going their separate ways in 2003. They'll probably go down in history as one of the hottest pop couples of all time -- right in front of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey.

Britney Spears got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003. At this point, she'd released her fourth album, In the Zone, and had achieved major success with her earlier albums. Hits like "Oops...I Did It Again," "...Baby One More Time," and "(You Drive Me) Crazy" made the Louisiana girl an international icon and one of the most successful teen stars of all time.
